Description
Approximate location of aircraft crash site. Wellington HZ375 crashed during a day flying training exercise on 30th July 1944, killing all 8 crew. 2 of the crew were Royal Australian Air Force personnel, the rest were RAF personnel. Salvage excavation on behalf of the Aircrew Remembrance Society in September 2013 recovered small fragments of the airframe, and a few fixtures and fittings only, all badly damaged (B3).
