Description

A memorial hall and two associated bronzes plaues. Plaque 1 was erected to commemorate 7 parishioners who were killed in action during WW1 and Plaque 2, 4 who were killed in action during WW2. Both plaques are in good condition. The foundation stone was laid by local clergy/dignataries on 19 August 1922 and the hall was opened on 4 November 1922. The unveiling was performed by Lt General Sir Francis Lloyd on 7 June 1924. The sponsor was Capt Ivor Stewart Liberty and the hall designed by Messrs Forbes and Tate, architects and constructed by H J Wright, builders (B2).
