Description

A Portland stone gothic cross 4.57m in height with marble plaques. Commemorates local parishioners who were killed in action during WW1 and WW2. Constructed by Mr Francis Bacon, Sculptor and Messrs Wilson and Sone, Builders. Unveiled on 5th October 1919. Cross and plaques in good condition (B1).

Designed by Francis Bacon – builders Henry Wilson & Sons, monumental masons of Uxbridge. Erected 1919 and thus an early example. Portland stone with marble inscription tablets and lead incised names. World War II inscriptions added. Maintained by Denham Parish Council. (B3).
