Description

The horse ridden by General De Villebois Mareuil was injured at the battle of Boshof in South Africa in 1900 - the General himself being killed. The horse was returned to England but died in 1911 and is buried on Latimer Green the spot being marked with a pile of stones surmounted by an obelisk (B1).
The smaller cairn (without an obelisk) commemorates the the horse.
