Description

A small stone celtic cross within a wheel on octagonal pillar and square base. Located within the graveyard of the former parish church, now demolished. 3.96m high and in good condition. The momument was dedicated by the Bishop Suffragan of Buckingham in January 1921. Commemorates local people who were killed in action during WW1 (B1).

Grade II. First World War memorial unveiled in 1920. Reasons for Designation: Historic interest - as an eloquent witness to the tragic impact of world events on this local community, and the sacrifice it has made in the conflicts of the C20; Architectural interest - this is a good quality wheel-headed cross memorial (B3).
