Description

Marble plaque in St.Marys, Beaconsfield to commemorate Robert S. Grenfell of the 12th Royal Lancers who was killed in the charge of the 21st Lancers during the battle of Khartoum on 2nd Sept 1898, age 23. The plaque erected by his brothers and sisters bears the family coat of arms at the top left and the badge of the 12th Lancers top left. Robert Grenfell's sword hangs beneath the plaque. (Ref: 1)
