Description

Erected by the "Old Boys" of his school - The Royal Grammar School, HighWycombe, this Portland stone plaque commemorates Frederick Youens VC. F.Youens was awarded the VC for valour on 7th July 1917 during the third battle of Ypres - dying later the same day from his wounds. The memorial bears the crests of the Royal Grammar School and the Durham Light Infantry. (Ref: 1)
