Description
A granite obelsik on a square plinth and two stepped base surrounded by a low chain link fence in a small garden. Commemorates 30 local people killed in action during WW1 and 6 in WW2. In good condition. Constructed by Mr Harper, builder and unveiled on 9 April 1922 by the Earl of Orkney (B1).

Grade II. First World War memorial, unveiled on 9 April 1922, with further names added after the Second World War. Reasons for Designation: - Historic interest: as an eloquent witness to the tragic impact of world events on this community, and the sacrifices it has made in the conflicts of the C20; - Architectural interest: a simple yet dignified granite obelisk (B4).
