Description
Portland Stone cross of sacrifice on an octagonal four stepped base, to commemorate those killed in WW1 and WW2. The monument was made by E Harris and dedicated by the Chaplain General to the Forces in 1919 - the names for WW2 being added later (B1).

Grade II. First World War memorial, 1919, with later additions for the Second World War. Reasons for Designation: Historic interest - as an eloquent witness to the tragic impact of world events on this local community, and the sacrifice it has made in the conflicts of the C20 and C21; Architectural interest - a well-proportioned memorial cross in Portland stone (B3).
