Description

A 'fully enclosed wheel' Celtic Cross made of granite on a two stepped base and surrounded by a fence located on the side of the B4444 at Longwick. The Memorial, dedicated by the Bishop Suffrangan of Buckingham in 1920 to commemorate those killed in WW1 later had the names of those killed in WW2 added (B1).

The war memorial at Longwick, erected in 1920, is listed at Grade II for the following principal reasons:
- Historic interest: as a permanent testament to the sacrifice made by this small community in the First and Second World Wars, it is of strong historic and cultural significance both at local and national level; - Architectural interest: for the quality of the design and craftsmanship of this sombre and dignified memorial.
