Description
The Memorial Hall in Lane End was officially opened by Field Marshal Sir William R Robertson on 12th November 1920. The hall contains two dedicatory plaques - an original Bronze Plaque, produced by Kathleen Shaw, commemorates those killed in WW1 and a wooden plaque was added later to commemorate those killed in WW2 (B1).
Close to the centre of the village lies the village hall, built in 1920 on land donated by the Clayton family. The war memorial porch, one of three memorials in the village, commemorates those who fell between 1914 and 1918. A significant building within Lane End Conservation Area (B2).
