Description

Stone Maltese cross mounted on an octangonal pillar,and surrounded by a four stepped plinth base. The memorial was biult by Messrs Axtel & Son and unveiled in June 1925 to commemorate those killed in WW1 - the names of those killed in WW2 being added later. There is no record of the authority responsible for the memorial (B1).

Reasons for Designation: Historic interest - As an eloquent witness to the tragic impact of world events on this local community, and the sacrifice it has made in the conflicts of the C20; Architectural interest - As an elegant Latin cross memorial with finely carved details (B3).
