Description

A cross of sacrifice and memorial plinth constructed of Portland stone. Designed by Sir Reginal Blomfield and erected by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in memory of members of the armed services who died during the First World War (1914-1918) and buried in Aylesbury Cemetery. Unveiled 9th March 1924 by Major-General Sir Fabian Ware and Dedicated by the Bishop Suffragen of Buckingham. An eightieth anniversary service was held on 7th March 2004 to commemorate the unveiling and dedication of the Cross. Considered to be in good condition (B1).
