Plan Form - Linear.
The human skulls, other bones, & warlike implements found on/near the linear earthwork (B1) may in fact indicate an early Saxon burial site (B4) rather than a ?Civil War battlefield (B1).
Site given in B1 as Pitch Green, a half-mile N of Stewkley Church; Pitchgreen Furlong (at NGR) marked on map of 1814 (B6).
