Description
Probable small 17th century timber-framed farmhouse extensively remodelled in the 18th century, with further extensions to the rear added in the 19th century, incorporating an existing semi-basement dairy (B1).
The farmhouse probably dates from around 1800 but incorporates the kitchen hall of a mid 17th century timber-framed house: the evidence for which comprises a substantial timber-framed partition between the entrance passage and the kitchen hall and the open fireplace with cambered and chamfered bressumer, keyed for plaster and subsequently blocked when the house was rebuilt, probably on the old foundations. The 19th century rear wing was probably added around 1830. See report for detail (B2).
