Description
Watching brief carried out by Network Archaeology in April and May 2010 during groundworks for school extension identified 3 intercuting Roman ditches, probably field boundary ditches associated with the nearby settlement. The ditches were aligned NW-SE and were only visible in section. They were steep-sided, ranging from 0.8m to over 2m wide and 0.4m to 0.7m deep. Finds of unstratified Roman pottery and tile was also recovered from modern topsoil or subsoil layers. See report for detail (B5).
