  • FIELD (Medieval to Post-Medieval - 1066 AD to 1798 AD)

Description

MOST OF THE EXCAVATED AREA WAS PROBABLY UNDER PASTURE FROM THE LATE MEDIEVAL PERIOD. APART FROM GULLY 24 & A DOVECOTE, THERE WAS LITTLE OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL INTEREST. THE EARTHWORKS WERE SHOWN BY THE RESULTS OF THIS EXCAVATION NOT TO BE OF CIVIL WAR DATE, AS LOCAL COMMENTATORS BELIEVED (B1).
