Description

HAND AXE (B1-2).
Findspot in River Terrace deposits. Old gravel pits have been flooded and landscaped and are now used by a fishing club. 8-10m of overgrown pit face survive above the water level (B3).


SP 723352. Flint axe found at a gravel pit at Foxcote. In possession of Mr Bonner, Estate Agents, 12 Market Square, Buckingham(B6)
At the time of investigation Mr Bonner could not be contacted. No further information (B7)

SP 725351. Unfinished worked flint found about 1953 in gravel at Foxcote Pits; identified as Palaeolithic by Northampton Museum (B4)
