1641 ESTATE MAP SHOWS WINDMILL IN 'HIGH DOUNE' FIELD. NOT ON 1740 MAP (B1).
1334 MANOR OF ASHENDON HAD A WINDMILL (B2).
ALMOST AT HIGHEST POINT OF NATURAL KNOLL IN 'HIGHDOWN' FIELD IS SLIGHT SUNKEN CIRCULAR DEPRESSION WITH RAISED CROSS RIDGE IN CENTRE. LIKELY SEATING FOR MILL (B3).
A windmill is shown on a map of 1641 at SP71081464, and may be the same as one referred to in 1334 (B5).
