Description

WELL MADE, SYMMETRICAL. THOUGHT PERHAPS AMERICAN-INDIAN BUT SIMILAR TO FIND FROM KINGSTON DEVERILL, WILTS (B1).
DOUBLE BOWL MODELLED ON 1 BOWL INSERTED IN MOUTH OF OTHER. (ILLUSTRATION)(B2).
NOW ACCEPTED AS FOREIGN, PROBABLY CENTRAL AFRICAN (B3).
NGR to centre of Long Crendon.



An urn found at Long Crendon (SP 6908) is now in Devizes Museum. It is probably Bronze Age (B4).

The urn is in Devizes Museum. Although labelled 'from Long Crendon, Bucks' in Colt Hoare's handwriting it is now accepted as being foreign and probably central African. F K Annable, Curator, Devizes Museum considers that it could have originated in the Congo (B5).
