SMALL AXE, VERY WELL FINISHED. LARGE FLAT BEVEL ON 1 SURFACE WITH PARTICULARLY HIGH POLISH. SOME RECENT BATTERING ROUND BOTH ENDS. FOUND BY MR.J.N.COATMAN IN SPOIL FROM FOUNDATIONS FOR GARAGE. SCALE DRAWING (BIBL1-2)
Half of a Neolithic polished flint axe was found in 1963 at Brook Cottage, Askett Lane, Askett, SP 815049 by Mr J N Coatman, in spoil from excavations for a garage (B2).
Found, as described, at SU 81490495. The axe is retained by Mr Coatman, but a drawing is held by Bucks Co Museum (B3).
