Description

(SP 8306) A hoard of silver pennies of Henry II, deposited about 1180, were found at Ellesborough in 1777 and disposed to the Ashmolean Museum, (Christ Church Collection) by Sir John Russell. The hoard originally comprised 13 coins, but only 12 are preserved (B1-2).
