Description

ROMAN TESSELATED PAVEMENT DISCOVERED DURING CONSTRUCTION OF TURNPIKE ROAD FROM LITTLE KIMBLE TO BUTLERS CROSS IN 1854. SOME DISJOINTED TESSERAE FOUND; 2 FRAGMENTS OF PAVEMENT ACCESSIONED BCM (B1-2,B4).
DAVID NEAL SAYS BCM PAVEMENT FRAGMENTS NOT ROMAN BUT MODERN (SET IN CEMENT)(B9).
