STATER OF ANDOCO. OBV: CRUCIFORM ORNAMENT OF 4 WREATHS, ENDING IN RING ORNAMENTS, WITH 2 THIN CRESCENT S IN CENTRE, HORNS ENDING IN PELLETS. REV: 'AND BENEATH HORSE GALLOPING TO RIGHT. (BI1). MACK TYPE 197 (BI2). NO DETAILS OF DISCOVERY (BI3).


Iron Age coin "found in 1855 on the side of the road leading from Ellesborough to Dunsmore Farm" (B4).
SP 858057. Listed as a gold stater of Andoco. Mack 197 Evans V 4 p 218 from Dunsmore. Now in the BM. (Allen does not give date of find) (B5).
