Description
Located a short distance to the south-east of Walton on the south-western side of Wendover Road between Milton Road and Spenser Road are nos. 115 to 145 Wendover Road, a row of very attractive late Victorian buildings. Of particular note are the three villas called Byron, Milton and Spenser villas which are situated at the south-eastern end of the group. Built in 1893, these substantial detached buildings are situated slightly back from the road behind a low brick wall and metal railings. Constructed of buff coloured and red bricks, the buildings are three storeys in height with half-hipped slate roofs and prominent chimney stacks. The buildings maintain many of their flamboyant original architectural features, including ground floor bay windows and highly ornate open porches. These are Local Building of Note within the Wendover Road Conservation Area (B1).
