Description

1 RIM, 1 'COMBED' BODY SHERD, PROBABLY SAME VESSEL. FABRIC CALCAREOUS IN APPEARANCE, ALTHOUGH ONLY 1 OR 2 PIECES OF CHALK IDENTIFIABLE IN BODY. SILICA GRITS, TRACES OF RED =?GROG. FOUND IN PLOUGHED FIELD BY MR.A.J.READ WHO SUPPLIED SKETCH MAP. SUBSEQUENT SEARCH BY FINDER FOUND NOTHING FURTHER (B1).

SP 845094 approx. Two calcareous rilled sherds, probably 3rd century AD, were discovered by A J Reed in a ploughed field (Bucks County Museum 26 1 72) (B2).
