Description

Grade II. Row of 4 cottages. Mid-late C18, altered C19 and C20. Thin timber-framing with brick infill, rendered to front, with incised masonry patterns, plain-tile roof and brick ridge stacks. 2-unit plans. 2-storey, 8-window range. Each cottage has central, panelled door. Those to Nos 22 & 23 four-panelled and part-glazed, those to Nos 24 & 25 five-panelled. Doors are flanked by tripartite horned sash windows with plate-glass sashes, rendered sills and surrounds with key blocks. 2-light casement windows to 1st floor, 2 to each cottage. Rendered plinth, rendered rusticated quoins either end and to centre, between Nos 23 & 24. Rendered eaves band. Nos 22 & 23 have single-storey extensions with catslide roofs. Nos 24 & 25 have 2-storey C20 extensions. Framing is visible to rear wall of No.22 in roof space over single-storey extension. Only No.24 has the original unpainted finish to the render (B1).
