Description
Grade II shop, office and dwelling. Early-mid C18, altered C20. Red brick in Flemish bond with some flared headers, with plain-tile roof. Probably 3-unit plan. 2-storey, 3-window range. Elevation facing The Chewar has 4-panel door to far left to No.2, with stop-chamfered wood lintel extending over 6-pane sash window to right. C20 door to left of centre with long stop-chamfered wood lintel extending to right over brickwork probably replacing shop window. C19 sash windows to 1st floor with stop-chamfered wood lintels. Brick plinth. Right gable end faces Market Hill and has C20 shop front to ground floor, tripartite sash window to 1st floor and C19 sash window to gable above, both with stop-chamfered wood lintels. INTERIOR: chamfered spine beam to ground-floor room and common rafter roof with collars and 2 tiers of purlins. (B1).
