Description

In the case of nos. 17 and 18 and 19 to 21, Chandos Road, the entire principal elevation is constructed of yellow bricks. However, at the rear of the properties hidden from public view, the appearance of the buildings is much plainer and the garden elevations are constructed of much cheaper bricks or local cornbrash rubble stone.
With the exception of nos. 19 to 21 which combine a mansard roof with steeply pitched gable wings, the majority of the roofs are gabled and covered in natural slates. Individual buildings retain distinctive quirky details, such as the enclosed glazed structure at first floor level above the entrance doors to nos. 5 and 6, Chandos Road and the particularly attractive first floor metal balconies on nos. 13 and 14 and 19 to 21, Chandos Road.
These are Local Building of Note within the Conservation Area of Buckingham. (B1).
