Description

The road broadens at Vicarage Lane. Here, Wantage House is visually important because it turns the corner from Vicarage Lane to the High Street. The house has a wellscreened boundary into the High Street that masks more recent development beyond. To the rear of Wantage House, former outbuildings are now converted to houses; one of these, 53 High Street, was used as a chapel at one period. This is a local building of note within the Conservation Area of Wing. (B1).
