Plan Form - BARBED & TANGED
A barbed and tanged flint arrowhead was found in 1952 at a depth of 1' 9" in a garden at 10 Savay Lane, near the Savay Farm (TQ 047 880). WELL MADE ARROWHEAD (ILLUS). MANY STRUCK FLINTS IN FRESH CONDITION WERE OBSERVED NEARBY AT THE SAME LEVEL. SITE MAY HAVE BEEN THE HEAD OF AN ANCIENT CREEK, & IS NOW SITUATED ON APPROX THE PRESENT FLOOD PLAIN LEVEL. DUG UP AT A DEPTH OF 53CM IN THE GARDEN OF HOUSE (B1-2).
The finder, indicated the precise find-spot of the arrowhead at TQ 04338801 in the back garden, Savay Lane. He retains the find which he found on the surface (B3).
