Flints believed to be neolithic (B4).
Flint flakes, probably Neolithic, and a 13th century jug and sherds were found in 1966 by Mr L H Barfield during road works at TQ 010887 (B2).
The flint industry (at TQ 010 885) comprised one finished tool, one discoid scraper and forty six waste flakes. There were also seventy one medieval sherds and a few 18th and 19th century sherds. The medieval potery can be interpreted as rubbish from an early settlement on the site of the adjacent Oakend House, and suggest occupation from the 12th to the 15th century. There was evidence of a possible medieval millpond here (B5).
