Type and Period (1)

  • HOUSE (20th Century - 1900 AD to 1999 AD)

Description

House. C20 with later fabric within. The house, particularly its roof, is prominent in views along High Street. The boundary of the plot is skirted by a low grumpling wall, possible with witchert walling above it originally. Today close boarded fencing has been added to the low wall. Although this is not a traditional material within the context of Westlington the fencing has been stained a dark colour to match the boarding and roof on the house, minimising its visual impact. This is a local building of note within the Conservation Area of Dinton. (B1).
