The school was erected in 1854, with a neat brick ediface, and about 60 boys and girls attended in 1862. The cost of the building, £180, was raised by private subscription (B2).
In 1856 a site including a building built in1854, called a house, was conveyed to the Rector and churchwardens from new College, Oxford, for a school and school house and a residence for a schoolmaster or misstress, for the poor persons of Akeley Parish (B3).
The school moved to a new building in around 1976 and this building was leased to the community and later became a private house (B4).
