Description

The first reference to Holmer is in the 13th century. The village of Holmer Green lies in the south of Little Missenden parish. Christ Church, Holmer Green, was erected in 1894. There is a Baptist chapel built in 1877, and Holmer Green School consists of schoolhouse and land in hand, and an endowment of £395 17s. 3d, set aside in 1846. This school is in course of being enlarged [in 1908](B1).
'Homer Gr.' and later 'Holmer Green' is marked on OS maps from 1812 onwards (B2).
