Description

Botley is first mentioned in legal documents in 1167, and then again in 1195, 1227 and 1241 (B1).
Botley is a hamlet consisting of several farms and cottages. St. George's, a chapel of ease to Christ Church, Waterside, is situated on Tylers Hill (B2).
'Botley' is marked on OS maps from 1812 onwards (B3).
