Description

Bricks are made at Walter's Ash in the extreme west of [Hughenden] parish. A finely-grained building stone has been quarried here for some time and is extensively used for channelling. Large quantities were used in refacing the Round Tower at Windsor (B1).
'Walter's Ash' is marked on OS maps from 1812 onwards (B2).
