Description

Conservation Area designated in 1982 and reviewed in 1997 (B1).
Three miles north of Hambleden village is the hamlet of Skirmett, with All Saints' Church, a chapel of ease to the parish church, an infants' school and a Congregational chapel (B2).
Skirmett is first mentioned in legal documents in about 1307 and subsequently in the 14th, 15th, 18th and 19th centuries (B3).
