Prestwood is mentioned in legal documents as a property of Missenden Abbey in the 14th and 16th centuries, first gifted in about 1180 (B1).
'Prestwood' is marked on OS maps from about 1878 onwards (B2).
The straggling vllage of Prestwood is situated on the western boundary of Great Missenden parish (B3).
