Description

Evaluation trial trenching carried out by Archaeological Solutions in August and September 2006 revealed a construction cut for a building with internal features includign a compacted chalk floor and possible hearth or burnt clay floor layer in Trench 110. Situated immediately south was a simialr feature which was either a very shallow ditch or a second building construction cut. To the north of these features was a terminating ditch, along with three possible postholes of which at least two could be associated with the post medieval buildings and related agricultural features.
