Description

This was only visible at commencement as a crumbling broken brickwork face at the top of the east bank. The structure is substantial, with the pointing of the top courses finished neatly. The majority of the foundation is gravel, above are 5 courses of bricks with no regular bond. Above this 5th course the brickwork steps in half a brick width. Visible above this step were 5 intact courses with the remains of two courses above. The lowere courses were an irregular bond but the top was generally regular stretcher on the face with with internal headers. A quantity of broken peg tiles was found to the south of the structure (B1)
