Description

Evaluation trial trenching carried out by Oxford Archaeology in July 2008 recovered 2 sherds of Roman pottery from the fill of a tree throw hole, interpreted as evidence of woodland clearance, possibly associated with iron smelting activity nearby in Park Wood [see CAS 05761](B1).
