Description

Evaluation trial trenching carried out in June 2008 by AS&C in advance of construction of a new house identified a shallow round-based N-S aligned gully at least 2m long, 0.6m wide and 0.2m deep with a terminal at its N end, interpretted as a medieval field or property boundary, possibly on the periphery of the settlement. The fill contained 3 sherds of medieval pottery, one a sherd of 14th century Brill/Boarstall ware. See report for detail (B1).
