Description
Geophysical survey carried out by Bartlett-Clark Consultancy in January and February 2008 in advance of proposed redevelopment of former airfield identified anomalies (Feature T) interpreted as sub-rectangular ditched enclosures aligned NE-SW, with possible internal features and associated with possible field boundary ditches and pit-type features (B1).
Possibly a continuation of CAS 09638?
Subsequent trial trench evaluation by Northants Archaeology between July and September 2008 confirmed presence of Late Iron Age settlement identified during geophysical survey. A degraded peat deposit was identified and sampled. See report for further details (B2).
