Description
Geophysical survey carried out by Bartlett-Clark Consultancy in January and February 2008 in advance of proposed redevelopment of former airfield identified anomalies (Feature B) interpreted as a small circular ditched enclosure, with possible internal subdivision and associated linear ditched boundaries, possibly field boundaries (B1).
Subsequent trial trenching by Northants Archaeology between July and September 2008 confirmed the presence of a small late Iron Age to early Roman settlement, probably a farmstead identified by the geophysical survey. See report for further details (B2).
