Description

An elongated rectangular ditched enclosure aligned NW-SE visible as a cropmark in aerial photos taken by Mike Farley in July 2009 (B1).

Cropmark of a probable later prehistoric elongated rectangular ditched enclosure visible on aerial photographs and located at SP 8089 0123. The site is reminiscent of the class of monument described as 'mortuary enclosures' and attributed to the Neolithic. It measures in the region of 70m in length and may have a break in the SW side, though this is probably due to lack of clarity of the cropmark at this point (2).
