Description

Geophysical surveys carried out between July and November 2008 by Stratascan identified a group of anomalies (Area 12) interpreted as rectilinear and curvilinear ditched and banked enclosures suggesting a possible small settlement and associated field boundaries. See report for detail (B1).
Romano-British pottery found nearby [CAS 00736].
Part of a horseshoe-shaped enclosure and two further enclosure were confirmed by the evaluation trenching. Pottery retrieval indicates that they date from the Late Iron Age to Early Roman period (B2).
