Description

Evaluation trial trenching carried out in April 2009 by Minas Tirith and volunteers from Marlow Archaeological Society in advance of proposed new building found that the area had been subjected to previous ground reduction and dumping of modern make-up layers. An undated truncated posthole 0.17m in diameter and 0.2m deep with a pointed post-pipe 0.08m in diameter and 0.13m deep was recorded cutting the natural gravel. 4 possible Neolithic worked flints were recovered from the surface of the natural gravel. See report for detail (B1).
