Description
Probable eighteenth or nineteenth century milestone missing from an unclassified road behind Stowe Park. Recorded on Milestones Society survey website as National ID number BU_LCN58X. Last recorded 1974. Was on south side of road. 'Looked for in 2003 as recorded on OS map in the drive of a house under construction not found'.' Was at site of old coaching inn'. Inscription : front: LVIII Miles to London 1775. Not visible on County First Edition OS map 1:2500 or current OS so site estimated from co-ordinates given on web site.
