Description
there si evidence for one medieval market at Stoke Poges. Ti was granted by charter, and was to be held on a Monday. The charter was dated 8th August 1331, and was granted by King Edward III to John de Molyns, King's yeoman, and was to be held at the manor. The same charter also granted John de Moleyns a fair to be held on the vigil and feast of St Barnabas, which fell on 11th June, and the five days following. Both were to be held at the manor. Two further fairs were granted to John de molyns by King Edward III. The first was granted by charter on 23rd December 1331, and was to be held on the vigil and feast of St Giles, which fell on 1st September, and the five days following. The second fair was granted b charter on 25th october 1333, and was to be held on the vigil, feast and morrow of the Annunciation of Mary, which fell on the 25th March. Both were to be held at the manor (B1)
